A dynamic hub where some of the art world's most prestigious works and emerging talents converge — inspiring collectors and art lovers across the globe.
FAZAL Unlimited is a dynamic hub where some of the art world's most prestigious works and emerging talents converge, inspiring collectors and art lovers across the globe.
Our mission is to elevate the collecting experience by blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation, shaping the future of art exhibitions while honoring the timeless beauty of fine art.
The Fazal Building stands proudly at the corner of Bamrung Mueang and Atsadang Roads, directly across from the Ministry of the Interior. Completed in the 1930s during the reign of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), the building's distinctive curved design overlooks the intersection of two historical roads, giving it a unique panoramic view in the heart of Bangkok's old town.
Constructed by an Italian architectural firm, the building blends classic European stylistic elements with local design traditions. Its symmetrical lines, large windows, and balconies were carefully crafted to create a sense of openness and fluidity — maximizing usable space while emphasizing a clean, timeless aesthetic that contributes to the building's lasting charm.
The ground floor once housed the renowned E.M. Katib department store, known for its exclusive collection of fine-cut glassware. The second and third floors served as the residence of the Katib family — a functional space that simultaneously accommodated commercial and residential purposes.
E.M. Katib was founded in 1896 by Mr. Eusuf Ali Katib. The store originally specialized in fine-cut glassware and ceramic cups imported from European countries — France, Belgium, Germany, and England. The first location was on Charoen Krung Road before moving to the iconic Fazal Building.
The store became renowned for its collection of luxury goods, including fine-cut glassware, ceramic cups, perfumes, and fine porcelain. It proudly featured prestigious brands such as Baccarat and Val-Saint-Lambert, attracting discerning buyers and high-ranking officials of the time.
E.M. Katib also enjoyed royal patronage. The royal family granted the store privileged access to procure exclusive European goods on their behalf, including glassware and ceramics fit for the palace. Evidence of this royal connection is still apparent today — porcelain bowls and plates bearing the seal of the equestrian statue of King Chulalongkorn, passed down through generations to the current heirs of the Katib family.

Created and based in Bangkok since 2015, TARS Unlimited operates as an inter-zone gallery producing and exhibiting work from established and emerging, international and local artists.
Creating an inter-zone gallery dynamic allows TARS Unlimited to mix local patterns and social phenomena with international movements — showcasing works that disrupt and play with established conventions to create social impact.
In 2024, TARS Unlimited began a new chapter in the historic neighborhood of Song Wat, a district long shaped by trade, migration, and cultural exchange. Our relocation reflects a conscious move away from the conventional gallery model and into a context where history, community and experimentation converge.
Song Wat, with its layered architecture and networks of merchants and workers, provides both a backdrop and a source of inspiration. Here, TARS Unlimited operates not only as an exhibition space, but as a cultural platform where dialogues and projects connect Bangkok's creative energy with international perspectives.
This move signals our commitment to working within the city's evolving landscape: embracing its complexity, amplifying its voices, and fostering encounters between art, place, and community. Since 2024, the Song Wat building has continued to transform — shaped by the idea that architecture is organic, an ever-evolving form that reflects the constant change and energy of Bangkok itself.
Before relocating to Song Wat, TARS was based in Phra Khanong, where it took shape as a white cube gallery inside a Bangkok shophouse.
Between 2015 and 2023, TARS produced more than 300 artworks, organized 42 exhibitions, and hosted 6 residencies, bringing together local and international artists. This period established TARS as a space for experimentation and cultural exchange — laying the foundation for the expanded platform it has become today.
